Burna Boy Apologises to Fans

The popular Nigerian hip-hop singer, Burna Boy, has apologised to his fans: "I never intended to hit him. They all know my rules. Whenever I'm performing on stage, I don't like any person from the crowd climbing the stage till I ask you", he said. Recall a video of the singer that went viral while performing on a stage where he angrily and defensively kicked a young boy, who climbed and ran towards him. His bodyguard was seen rushing to the scene and pushing the lad into the cheering crowd immediately. "The rule is simple. And people have been obeying it. I sincerely apologise for what happened. For security purpose, I did what I did because of the manner in which he ran towards me. I love you, my fans, and I'll keep loving you all. Forgive my error", Burna Boy pleaded.

Mohbad's Private Cause of Death Released

By: Goke Williams The autopsy result of late musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, conducted by his family to ascertain the true cause of his demise through a private autopsy and toxicology has been released. Recall that the Coroner’s Court sitting in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State granted the family permission to carry out an independent post-mortem examination and toxicology screening on Mohbad in June 2024. Consequently, the family sought permission for an independent post-mortem examination due to questionable circumstances surrounding the passing of the deceased. The court's ruling followed the outcome of the prior autopsy conducted by the Lagos State Government, which was deemed inconclusive and subsequently dismissed by the family. A family source privy to the development said yesterday that the result had been ready since December.  "The private autopsy has been concluded and the result is currently with the forensic pathologist contracted by the fam...

A Life of Simplicity, Humility, and Humanity: Honouring the Legacies of Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi (Tuykana)

I am profoundly saddened by the passing of Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi, affectionately known as Tuykana. He departed this life in the early hours of today following a tragic car accident in which he was involved a few weeks ago. Until his painful yet glorious transition, he held the esteemed position of Secretary to the Government of Ondo State. My first encounter with Hon Tuykana, as he was fondly called, was in 2004 when he graciously hosted the Home Branch of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Old Students' Association in a lavish manner at his residence, situated opposite the Ondo State High Court in Akure. I got to know of the meeting via a radio announcement. His serenity, coupled with his amiable demeanour, was palpable at the meeting. Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi would pick whoever called him on phone, regardless of the time or day – a trait that is exceedingly rare among contemporary politicians. Even amidst his busy engagements in Abuja while diligently pursuing political elevation before he was...
