EFCC Gives Reasons for Freezing Osun State Government Account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has placed a Post No Debit order on the bank accounts of the Osun State Government over alleged fraudulent handling of public funds to the tune of N11 billion. In a press statement released on Wednesday, the Commission said the action became necessary following suspicious movements of funds from state accounts since August 2, 2026. According to the EFCC, it has been investigating the Osun State Government since March 2026 regarding the alleged mismanagement of Ecology Funds, Intervention Funds, and Federal Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, allocations.  The Commission disclosed that some officials of the state government, including the Accountant General, have been invited for questioning as part of the ongoing probe. BREAKING: Sowore Has Been Arrested

Newsflash: Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist, has just been arrested at the Federal High Court by the Nigerian police. In a video clip circulated on the social media, he was seen arguing with a set of police men. He was later asked to go with them to the station. Sowore earlier met with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Federal High Court today. Sowore wrote: "The man is powerful and unrelenting. We greeted and hugged and the bond is strong!" 

Has FG Banned UTME?

The viral information that UTME/JAMB has been banned has been rejected by the Federal Government. The press release from the federal ministry of education only modifies some guidelines for admissions into our various tertiary institutions. The viral online report that stated that the Federal Government of Nigeria has put an end to the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been debunked by the federal ministry of education.  Though some claimed that the rumoured reform was long overdue and that it was a welcome development in the Nigerian educational sector.
