– Constitutes Transition and Inauguration Committees for Proper Handover of Baton
The President of the Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Alumni Association Worldwide, Dr. Niyi Ijogun, FNIQS, announced that the perimeter fence of the esteemed Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, is set for completion in December.
He made this assertion yesterday while addressing the press shortly after conducting an inspection of several ongoing projects within the school premises.
He noted that the duration of the fencing project took less than six months and therefore commended the Chairman of the Fencing Project Committee, Prof. Opeyemi Oniya, who also serves as the Chairman of the Maryland Branch of the Association in the United States, alongside Engr. Olarerin Adedeji, the Supervising Coordinator of the Fencing Project, who is also the incoming Global Social Secretary, and the entire fencing team for their exemplary efforts.
Ijogun expressed profound gratitude for the financial and moral support of the alumni who made the fencing project feasible, emphasizing that the laudable initiative would not only further enhance the security framework of the school but also deter encroachment on the school’s land.
He added that the project was 98 percent complete and would be delivered before the conclusion of his tenure.
Also, the president toured the ongoing projects facilitated by Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, the senator representing the Ondo Central Senatorial District. He conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the senator for his commendable work, characterizing him as a figure of national pride. Ijogun wished him continued success in all his future endeavors.
He described the projects as phenomenal, which included an ultramodern hall with a capacity exceeding 1,000, world-class classroom blocks, and a state-of-the-art e-library.
Earlier, the president presided over a swearing-in ceremony for the Transition and Inauguration Committees in accordance with the established rules and regulations outlined in the constitution of the association. These committees are tasked with ensuring a seamless transition from the current 10th Executive Council to the 11th Executive Council of the global body.
Ijogun characterized both the Chairman of the Transition Committee, Comrade Boboye Taiwo, Esq, who is also the outgoing Global General Secretary, and the Chairman of the Inauguration Committee, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, a distinguished alumnus, as individuals endowed with immense experience, serving as a source of inspiration for him. He expressed confidence in their capabilities to deliver excellently.
The event, which took place at the Alumni Secretariat within the school grounds, had in attendance some global executive members, esteemed alumni, and the school management team.
