The Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Hon. Dr. Gbenga Timothy Fasua, accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Adebayo Ayodele Gabriel, and the local government management team, recently held a special thanksgiving service at the Celestial Church of Christ, Ondo State Archdiocesan Headquarters, Agunloye, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Hon. Dr. Gbenga Fasua, who was visibly radiant with joy, expressed profound gratitude to God for His benevolence and loving kindness.
Fielding questions from Gok Communications at the event, Hon. Fasua stated, "My spirit is elated, and I am immensely grateful to God for the miraculous fulfillment of my petitions. Prior to the election, I earnestly consulted and prayed to God, pledging that should He grant me this victory, I would publicly acknowledge His goodness. Today marks a significant day in the fulfillment of that vow, as I come before the congregation to express my gratitude for His wondrous deeds. And this is the reason we have come with the management of Akure South Local Government to grace this occasion today."
Earlier, in a letter of visitation addressed to the church, Hon. Gbenga Fasua stated, "I am writing to share my heartfelt intention to conduct a thanksgiving service at your esteemed church... Before my election, I made a solemn promise to God that if He granted me victory, I would express my gratitude through worship and thanksgiving in various churches. I am honored to select your church as one of the key places where I will fulfill this commitment."
In response, the Shepherd in Charge of CCC Agunloye and Head of the Ondo State Archdiocesan Headquarters, Venerable Superior Evangelist Prophet (Dr.) Adebayo Adekoya, commended Hon. Fasua for recognizing the importance of expressing gratitude to God for his landmark electoral victory.
He further acknowledged the local government boss for his commendable and impactful projects throughout Akure South, particularly the channelization of waterways, which has greatly benefited the Agunloye community. He noted that previously, many residences near the river had suffered from flooding, prompting numerous residents to abandon their properties for safety.
The congregation, led by the Shepherd, fervently prayed for the chairman and Akure South, extending their prayers to the Ondo State government under the leadership of Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State.
The chairman and his team demonstrated their appreciation through heartfelt offerings and joyous dance before the congregation. Hon. Fasua did not leave the church premises without benefiting from the prophecy of God being constantly enjoyed by the congregation at no cost, as a prophetess gave him a spiritual message.
Hon. Dr. Gbenga Fasua, who recently celebrated 100 days in office as the duly elected Chairman of Akure South Local Government, also serves as the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Ondo State.
