OGSA Global Alumni Establishes New Branch

The Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Alumni Association, in grand style, has inaugurated its Abeokuta Branch, in accordance with the newly revised constitution of the association. This aims to extend the reach of the esteemed body.

The delegation, led by the Global President of the Association, Dr. Niyi Ijogun, FNIQS, included several members of the Global Executive Council, as well as other OGSA alumni.

In his address at the event, Dr. Niyi Ijogun urged the newly elected executive members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the association and the institution. He encouraged them to conceive and initiate at least one significant project on the school campus in Akure. He presented a variety of gifts to the attendees, notably OGSA-branded umbrellas to all the newly elected Executive members.

Prince Tayo Adelua, the newly elected Chairman of the OGSA Alumni Association, Abeokuta Branch, expressed his gratitude to the gathering, particularly to Dr. Niyi Ijogun for his unwavering dedication to the advancement of both the school and the association. He pledged his commitment to the growth and development of the association.

The colorful event took place today, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the N.U.J Press Center, Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, Oke-Ilewo.

Here are the names of the newly elected executive members of OGSA Alumni Association, Abeokuta Branch:

The Executive members are to govern the affairs of the branch for the next four years, as stipulated by the association's constitution. This giant stride is part of the commitment of the 10th Global Executive Council to fortify the alumni network on both national and international fronts. It is noteworthy that the initiative to establish additional branches of the association is already in full swing, even prior to the expiration of the 10th Global Executive Council's term.

Tragedy: Female Student Stabbed Male Student over Dispute

A disturbing incident happened at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, on Monday, leaving the student community in shock. A 100-level English Education student, simply indentified as Aisha, allegedly stabbed a fellow student from the Chemistry Education department with a broken bottle near his chest. The altercation arose from a seemingly argument over phone charging, which rapidly escalated into a violent confrontation.
