An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain from Akure South, Hon Goke Williams, also known as "Fagor the Great," has conveyed warm congratulations to the newly elected Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area, Hon (Dr) Gbenga Fasua, and his vice, Hon Adebayo Ayodele, on their assumption of office and presentation of a white Toyota Hilux vehicle to the local government by Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State.
Hon Goke Williams, who was a Convener of Goke for Aiyedatiwa in the last guber elections, used the medium to express gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the thoughtful gesture of presenting a Toyota Hilux vechicle to all the 18 local council chairmen each. He said: "This gesture will not only facilitate their mobility but also enhance efficiency in executing their responsibilities. He viewed the governor's actions as a testament to his unwavering dedication to the holistic development of all local governments within the state.
Hon Goke, in a statement issued on Thursday, expressed strong confidence in the leadership of the council, portraying them as young grassroots politicians with a determination to elevate Akure South to greater heights across all essential sectors of the economy. He commended their diligent work ethic and successful backgrounds in private enterprises prior to their political endeavours, believing that they would utilise their vigour and entrepreneurial acumen to elevate Akure South from its current state to a model local government in Nigeria that all could be proud of.
Urging Hon Gbenga Fasua, who also holds the distinguished position of Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Ondo State, Hon Goke emphasised the importance of prioritising the welfare of the people and ensuring that every individual reaps the dividends of democracy regardless of their political inclinations.
In his perspective, the APC stalwart underscored the pivotal role played by Hon Gbenga Fasua as an Executive Chairman, in conjunction with his educational background, to bring prestige to the local government and instill happiness among its inhabitants.
"As the Executive Chairman of the foremost Local Government of our beloved Sunshine State, and as a distinguished alumnus of the esteemed Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, popularly known as 'the Only School,' Hon (Dr) Gbenga Fasua is poised to bring pride, progress, and joy to our community."
Similarly, Hon Goke extolled the virtues of his vice chairman, accentuating his deep-seated concern for the well-being of the community and his unwavering commitment to their advancement.
"Hon Adebayo Ayodele, the Vice Chairman of Akure South, is a remarkable individual whose profound care for the welfare of others is truly commendable. He remains a shoulder upon which many have risen in life."
He firmly believed that both personalities would deliver exceptional service to the good people of Akure South. "They will both deliver for the good people of our dear local government," assured Hon Goke Williams.
Goke Williams, however, prayed for God's continued protection and wisdom for the chairman and the vice chairman, while wishing them a successful tenure marked by outstanding achievements that would leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of Akure South residents.
