In a congratulatory message duly signed and made available to the press in Akure, the Ondo State capital, earlier today, the association's chairman, Prof. Opeyemi Oniya, Sr., said the body expressed its heartfelt congratulations to the Akure Senior High Chief. "It is with profound honor that we commemorate the 10th coronation anniversary of our esteemed, Sr. High Chief (Dr.) Segun Adedipe, the Elemo of Akure Land," the tribute read. The chairman noted that since a decade after his ascension to his ancestors' throne, he had placed priority on the welfare of his people, and his leadership had continued to be a source of pride to them. Dr. Niyi Ijogun's philanthropic gestures have significantly transformed the lives of many, and his contributions to the advancement of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, will be cherished for generations to come. His visionary leadership has inspired a new wave of commitment to community service, and his legacy will perpetually inspire others. He has etched his love in our hearts through his exceptional commitment and selfless sacrifice.

 

As a leader, he epitomizes the truest values of excellence, brilliance, intelligence, compassion, and dedication, which have been the hallmark of his tenure as Global President of the OGSA Alumni Association. He has adeptly harnessed his personality and influence to affect our Alumni positively. His unwavering humanitarian development over the years has further garnered him the respect and admiration of all who are privileged to know him.


Dr. Niyi Ijogun is the first alumnus to be so honored as President of the Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Alumni Association Worldwide, in consonance with the amended constitution of the association. I have had the privilege of working closely with him as his Personal Assistant, and these aforementioned qualities consistently resonate in his character. Without mincing words, his unwavering commitment to the development of his community and humanity at large stands as a shining testament to his personality.


Distinguished Alumni, this is an individual who not only inspired and influenced the construction of magnificent infrastructural buildings throughout Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, but also single-handedly built a world-class Administrative Block for the school. Visit the school today and witness for yourself; compare the last four years with the present, and you will be left in awe and amazement. Undoubtedly, Dr. Niyi Ijogun has brought joy not only to the faces of countless alumni members but also to the teaching and non-teaching staff, alongside the students of OGSA through his noble foundation. His monumental achievements are unparalleled in the annals of the school's history.


Mr. President has inscribed his name in gold not only in the annals of our highly revered Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, but also in the broader tapestry of human history. I could not have been prouder of his accomplishments.


I convey my heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to our esteemed President, Dr. Niyi Ijogun, for his meritorious service as he bows out of the presidency in a few days' time, and I wish him enduring success, robust health, and continued prosperity. May the future be kind to him and his family. Surely, we are going to miss his outstanding leadership.


To this end, I bring my sincere appreciation to the outgoing 10th Global Executive Council for their commendable efforts; working with them has broadened my experience immeasurably. Kindly permit me to extend my gratitude to the entire general assembly of our dear Alumni for their remarkable support, while congratulating the incoming Global Excecutive Council and wishing them well. OGSA Celebrates 73rd Founder's Day Anniversary in Grand Style

  The Global President of the Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Alumni Association, Dr. Adeniyi Ijogun, has stated that the institution's founding fathers planted ideals of discipline, excellence, service, character, faith, and community when they established the school. Ride of Terror: Female Suspect Arrested over Murder of Nigerian Driver in South Africa

A 22-year-old e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, met a gruesome end in Pretoria West on February 11. The young driver unknowingly picked up two passengers, a man and a woman, who allegedly ambushed him in his own vehicle. The Gauteng Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a female suspect in connection with the hijacking-turned-murder, while her accomplice remains unseen as at the time of filing this report. All hands must be on deck in apprehending her evil partner, and also be brought to book. Satlat's body and stolen car were found abandoned in Atteridgeville hours after the attack. The arrested suspect will face charges of murder and hijacking at the Atteridgeville Magistrate's Court on February 16. Authorities are urging the public to provide tips to track down the fleeing accomplice. The killing has sparked outrage across continents, highlighting the dangers faced by drivers and the need for vigilance.

OGSA Crowns Africa Outstanding Alumni Award – Rev. Ayo Ikulamberu

Ayo Ikulamberu, the Global Publicity Secretary of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Alumni Association, said the Alumni had been recognized and awarded the prestigious Africa Outstanding Alumni Award by the African Principals' Conference Initiative, APCI. He further stated that in less than four years, the Alumni had spent over half a billion naira to improve infrastructure in the school, highlighting the ongoing renovation of the Chemistry Laboratory, which is projected to cost in excess of eighteen million naira. Former Ondo State First Lady, Betty Akeredolu, in a war of words with Ondo Finance Commissioner, Isaac Omowumi. This was contained in the Betty's Facebook profile where she screenshot a WhatsApp conversation between herself and Omowumi. In what appeared to be a drama, both women greatly insulted each other.  Why are some women like this?
