There are justices—and then there is Hon. (Bldr.) Williams Oluropo Igboroodowo!
He is as compelling as a morning shower: refreshing, steady, and impossible to ignore. Little wonder, the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, recently conferred a prestigious title of Justice of the Peace on him. He stands out as one of the few who understand the sacred duty of administering justice and peace. He is, without question, a pride of Ondo State and a national treasure to behold.
Part of what makes Hon. Oluropo extraordinary is the architecture of his mind—an uncommon fusion of building technology precision, quantity survey sensibility, computer science, and political insight. As a seasoned construction builder and a technologist, Oluropo brings expertise and precision to every project he undertakes. His strong foundation in Building Technology, earned through his HND, Postgraduate Diplomas, and Master's degree from reputable institutions, has served him well in his civil service career, particularly in the Ondo State Ministry of Works and Transport.
As a Higher Technical Officer, Oluropo demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and leadership skills, overseeing numerous infrastructure projects and ensuring their successful completion. His experience in quantity surveying and project management has made him a valuable asset to any organization. He is a member of many professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Building and the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria.
He has contributed significantly to community development through his service in various committees and has been recognized for his integrity, dedication, and commitment to public service. Without mincing words, Oluropo is a respected community leader, philanthropist, and a seasoned technocrat. Hon. (Bldr.) Oluropo served meritoriously and rose to an enviable position of Deputy Director in the Ondo State Civil Service until his retirement. He is a distinguished professional with a strong background in Building Technology. He has worked excellently in various MDAs, including the Ministry of Works and Transport.
As a mark of his intelligence, integrity, and dedication to duty while in the civil service, he was, shortly after retirement, appointed a member of the Ondo State Customary Court and is presently the President of Customary Court 2, Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore Local Government Council of Ondo State. As a Customary Court Judge, Oluropo brings wisdom, empathy, and a deep understanding of the law to the adjudication process, ensuring that justice is served and the rights of all parties are protected.
Without an iota of doubt, he remains a man of proven integrity who can be trusted with the interpretation of the law and adjudication of disputes. Through his community service and philanthropic endeavors, especially in his hometown, Ijare in Ifedore Local Government, Oluropo has made a positive impact on the lives of many, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to society. His dedication to his church and social organizations is a testament to his strong values and character.
Hon. (Bldr.) Williams Oluropo Igboroodowo is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Building and also a registered builder with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON). He is the Centre Manager of the company, AKURE SKILLS NIG. LTD, and an External Quality Assurance Manager (EQAM). Oluropo is one of the pioneer stakeholders in construction trades skills training and certification recognized by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Education (FME).
This appointment, graciously bestowed by the Ondo State governor, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Aiyedatiwa, without much ado, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to public service. Hon. (Bldr.)
