The Global President of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Alumni Association, Dr. Niyi Ijogun, has expressed heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Dr. Gbenga Timothy Fasua, Chairman of Akure-South Local Government, on the celebration of his remarkable first 100 days in office.
In his congratulatory message, Ijogun said: "I bring my warmest congratulations to Hon. Dr. Gbenga Fasua on the occasion of his monumental first 100 days in office. This leadership journey has undoubtedly shown the significance of the immeasurable strength of the youth in heralding great transformation in all strata of capital and human development. The depth of your passion and your selfless services to the people of Akure South is highly applauded. In barely three months, you have changed the face of Akure South in an unprecedented manner, bringing in all critical stakeholders together to understand their challenges and proffering lasting solutions to them – this is all about responsive and responsible leadership. I say thank you for redefining governance being a critical and foremost local government in the state. You have truly shown the light for others to follow.
"This singular act of fostering good governance has led to many impactful initiatives, such as the 'FREE GRADING OF OVER 50 COMMUNITY ROADS' program, which has immensely improved the economy and transportation in our neighborhoods, making access to essential goods and services easier and faster. Coupled with the 'HON. FASUA BETTER VISION INITIATIVES FOR AKURE,' you have demonstrated yourself as a forward-thinking personality prepared to make indelible achievements for his people. Of recent is your brilliant initiative: 'OPERATION LIGHT UP AKURE MARKETS,' which has lighted up the ultra-modern and popular Ojo Oba and Odo-Ikoyi markets, boosting security and enhancing economic activities."
Ijogun opined that: 'The programs initiated by Hon. Gbenga are just the tip of the iceberg, and that Oyemekun Grammar School Akure Old Students are known for excellent service anywhere they find themselves globally, be it in the private or public sector, and that Hon. Gbenga is not an exception.' He emphasized that: 'The good moral and brilliant academic nature of the school is found in the LG boss, as further evidenced in his role not only as Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Ondo State, but also as National Treasurer of ALGON.'
The President of the 10th Global Executive Council of OGSA Alumni Association, Dr. Ijogun, also praised Hon. Fasua for immortalizing the late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi by renaming the local government secretariat's office complex after him. In his words: "I further use this medium to appreciate the LG Chairman for immortalizing the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, late Hon. Temitayo Oluwaseye Oluwatuyi, aka Tuykana, who was also an OGSA alumnus, by renaming the local government secretariat's office complex, formerly known as Ekun House, after him." While also calling on Fasua for more dedication to his alma mater's development.
"As an alumnus of the 'Only School', I urge you to continue showing others the leading light, raising the bar, and upholding our motto: For God and Humanity – these should be your guiding principles.
"I appeal you serve with honor, humility, and dignity. The path you are treading is not only commendable; it is deeply appreciated by all of us. I pray for more strength, health, and wisdom as you climb the delicate leadership ladder to greatness. May your days in office continue to usher in rapid growth for the people of Akure South and pride not only to Ondo State in particular, but also Nigeria at large. Once again, congratulations, Hon. Dr. Gbenga Fasua, on this extraordinary feat", Ijogun concluded in his congratulatory message.
