Akure South Vice Chairman Congratulates Hon Goke Williams on ANA's Re-election



Hon Adebayo Ayodele, the Vice Chairman of Akure South, extends his sincere congratulations to Hon Goke Williams on his well-deserved election as Public Relations Officer I of the Ondo State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).


In his congratulatory statement, Hon Adebayo remarked, "It comes as no surprise that you have been elected as the Public Relations Officer I of the esteemed Association of Nigerian Authors, Ondo State Chapter, a highly respected organisation of literary professionals. Besides, your distinguished career as an author and a media personality spanning over two decades in both print and non-print media solidifies your eminence for this role."


Expressing unwavering confidence in Goke Williams' capabilities as the newly elected publicity manager of the renowned literary association in the state, Hon Adebayo stated, "I am confident that you will leverage your expertise to effectively disseminate information internally and externally. The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by Ven Amb Nelson Fadoju, a veteran broadcaster and a longstanding active member of the body.


The election of the Association took place on Saturday 21st December 2024 at the NUJ Centre, Pen's House, behind Adegbemile Cultural Centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Tragedy: Female Student Stabbed Male Student over Dispute

A disturbing incident happened at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, on Monday, leaving the student community in shock. A 100-level English Education student, simply indentified as Aisha, allegedly stabbed a fellow student from the Chemistry Education department with a broken bottle near his chest. The altercation arose from a seemingly argument over phone charging, which rapidly escalated into a violent confrontation. According to eyewitnesses, Aisha had been embroiled in a heated argument with a group of students who had gathered to charge their phones at her villa.
