Hon Goke Williams, a prominent figure within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of Ondo State, offers his sincere congratulations to the winner of the recent Ondo State gubernatorial election, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, lauding his triumph as resounding and exceptional.
In his message of congratulations, he emphasised God's hand in his election, "Your victory at the polls is divinely orchestrated, and there is nothing anybody can do about it."
He commended the governor's leadership, portraying him as a figure of modesty whose unassuming demeanour serves as a source of inspiration to the populace. He acknowledged the substantial support garnered by the governor across all the 18 local government areas of the state as a noteworthy and unparalleled feat in the political annals of Ondo State. He attributed this overwhelming support to the profound adoration the residents of Ondo State have for the governor-elect.
Goke Williams emphasised that the election results showed the deep-seated trust and confidence the people of Ondo State reposed in Governor Aiyedatiwa's capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to all without discrimination. He remarked: "This victory signifies not merely a win for the APC, but also a reaffirmation of the citizenry's conviction in your unwavering dedication to propelling our state towards an enviable height among the comity of states in Nigeria."
Having harnessed the power of social media to gather massive support for the governor and his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, mni, prior to the election, Goke expressed gratitude to the residents of Akure South for giving the highest number of votes to the governor among all the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, deeming it a testament to the genuine love the people of Akure have for the governor.
Acknowledging the robust party structure established by the state chairman of the APC, Engr Ade Adetimehin, and other party leaders in Akure South local government, the APC chieftain, popularly known as "Fagor the Great," who secured victory for the APC in Ward 11, extended heartfelt appreciation to them and to all his supporters for their commendable efforts.
While expressing gratitude to all the stakeholders involved in the electoral process for providing a peaceful environment for the election, Goke specially commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), affirming that the electoral body justified the people's faith by the prompt uploading of all collated results, resulting in transparency. He hailed the election as one of the most transparent, freest and fairest elections not only in the history of Ondo State but across the nation.
Goke urged the governor to diligently work towards restoring Ondo State's former glory by direct investments in the populace and implementation of poverty alleviation programmes. " I appeal to Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the governor-elect, to work assiduously and earnestly to return the lost glory of Ondo State by directly and substantially investing in our people, initiating poverty alleviated programmes, creating wealth for the teeming unemployed youth, embarking on agreessive mechanised farming to banish hunger from the land, fostering international relations and partnerships to turn around the state's fortune, harnessing eagerly the vast natural resources to improve the economy, ushering in progress and prosperity for all by prioritising the welfare and security of the people for the sake of posterity," the statement read.
In his closing remarks, he expressed optimism in the governor-elect's leadership, saying he would not let the people down, and urged the electorate to rally support for his administration, while pledging his unalloyed support for the governor in sustaining peace and fostering development in the state.
