Hon (Barr) (Dr) Olumuyiwa Adu, popularly known as Adu Cubana, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had said that the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, notably stood out among all the gubernatorial candidates competing for the highly esteemed governorship seat in the state, slated for the 16th of November 2024, adding that the governorship candidates are all his very good friends. He made this statement at the 54th Annual Adult Harvest Thanksgiving Service of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ondo State Arch Diocesan Headquarters, Agunloye, Akure, recently.
Adu, who was a special guest at the ceremony, emphasised that his support for the governor was divinely inspired, referring to it as the "Akure's Agenda," and that Akure residents were not ready to go on a longer journey of 8 years.
He expressed his unwavering confidence in the governor's leadership capabilities, affirming his belief in the prudent management of the state's resources. He therefore appealed to the congregants to preach about his boss; Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, extensively, and ensure support for him and his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, mni, through their votes in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.
Adorned in a full white garment, Hon Adu reminisced about his past involvement within the church community, recalling his active participation in composing a song between 1978 and 1980 for the former state evangelist and the shepherd in charge of the church, Evangelist Banjo Falade, underscoring his devout affiliation with the celestial fold. Demonstrating his philanthropic nature, he handsomely donated a monetary gift towards the church's development.
